Rachel H.: As I'm sure you already know, my name is Rachel Hanks and I am a second year student at RDC. I'm currently in the Bachelor of Education program, and hope to transfer to the university of Lethbridge at the end of this academic year. I chose to become an English teacher because I have loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember, and I want to be able to find work where my passion can infiltrate everything that I do. I love music, although I play it more than I listen to it, baking and, as stated above reading. I really love learning, especially when it comes to learning different cultures and languages. In the summer before grade twelve, I participated in a government bursary program called Explore where I got to live with a Francophone family in Quebec for five weeks to improve my grasp of the language. I really loved it, and I think that my dream vacation would be to go to a place where I have absolutely no background knowledge of the language and live there for about a year.
